    • My Cisco 1605 refused to authenticate when configuring it to dial another cisco-router.  Only username seen in debug mode was remote node username / host.

    • Enable RIP (Routing Information Protocol) and off ya go!

    That made chap-packets go over the line (seemed that it would not send a single packet at all)...
