During attempted startup of the NFS daemon (knfsd) the following error message appears several times:

Cannot register service: RPC: Unable to receive; errno = Connection refused

NFS attempts to register it's services with the portmapper, but the portmapper is refusing connections.

1. Restart the portmap service using
/etc/rc.d/init.d/portmap restart
2. Restart the NFS daemon using
/etc/rc.d/init.d/nfs restart
