The "N" icon in the systray shows a red warning symbol. Upon inspection, the NJeeves service is not running. The problem disappears if Windows is rebooted, but the problem re-appears after a short while.

NJeeves is the process that controls the internal messaging system in NVC and is not critical for detection and removal to work. To fix the problem, run "\Norman\Nvc\Bin\Delnvc5.exe" and choose "Repair".
