  • Netware server emits a warning every few seconds, reading something like this:

     6/03/00  14.43.25 :    DS-6.4-12
Synthetic Time is being issued on partition "ATC."

  • The server has timewarped, which means the clock has been adjusted backwards and current timestamps are older than ones that have already been issued. Netware compensates for this to ensure NDS integrity. To resolve the problem however, you need to take the following steps:

    1. Make sure all the servers are syncronized with correct date and time (Use "set time" to make immediate adjustments)
    2. "load dsrepair -a"
    3. Select "Advanced options menu"
    4. Select "Replika and partition operations"
    5. For each partition, select "Repair time stamps and declare a new epoch"

The warnings should stop appearing after a few minutes.
